Brighouse Twon 4, Liversedge 2 Three late goals from the home side gave a very tight derby fixture a lop-sided scoreline.

Brighouse Town banked the three points courtesy of a triple whammy in the last 14 minutes but Liversedge were the better side for much of the game. They led this Baris NCE League Premier Division clash for almost 50 minutes.

Steve Hollingworth headed Town into a 24th-minute lead to spark an early flurry of goals. Two minutes later, former Town man Nathan Cartman hit Sedge’s equaliser and a minute after that Dave Boardman made it 2-1 to the visitors.

Danny Hull netted the 76th-minute equaliser and the match swung in Town’s favour with Alex O’Keefe and Danny Naidole scoring inside the last seven minutes.

* The biggest shock of the day was in Division One as third-placed Albion Sports went down 2-1 at basement outfit Appleby Frodingham.

The home side gained their first points after 13 straight defeats. Chris McDonald broke the deadlock midway through the first half but Albion levelled through Paul Helliwell in the 51st minute.

There was to be no comeback however as James Donnelly’s 74th-minute strike won it for the hosts. A victory would have taken promotion-chasing Sports second but the result dropped them to fourth.
