James Hanson today shrugged off his treatment from the City boo boys and insisted: It comes with the territory.
The targetman has come in for flak from the stands and off the internet during the club’s struggling start.
But Hanson has the full support of boss Phil Parkinson and treats the criticism as water off a duck’s back.
He said: “The gaffer told me that it’s been the same at every club he’s managed. When things aren’t going well then the big man will get the criticism because they stand out.
“But he’s backed me and has got faith in me and that’s the most important thing.
“It can happen when you play for such a big club. There are 10,000 supporters and you know that not everyone’s going to like you.
“You’ve just got to get on with it and keep working hard on the pitch. I don’t let it affect me.
“When I first signed with the club, Chris Brandon told me to not get too carried away with the highs and lows and stay in the middle. He also told me not to read the internet.”
