Liversedge may have only won one of their last seven fixtures but they host Bridlington Town on Saturday knowing they could leapfrog them in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Sedge are eighth while Brid, who have one game in hand, are fourth but the home side will go into the game without an inferiority complex as it is the knockout competitions that are their Achilles heel.

In the league, just three points separate the entire top eight so there is still everything to play for.

Third-placed Brighouse Town travel to second-placed Retford United, with both clubs locked on 15 points.

Paul Quinn’s Town will be in good spirits after coming back from their last game at Maltby Main with the three points.

Thackley should have faced Tadcaster Albion on Saturday but they are involved in the FA Cup against Halifax in the second qualifying round this weekend.

In Division One, Eccleshill United could profit from neighbours Albion Sports’ inactivity if they continue their form at home to AFC Emley.

The Eagles have won their last five league games and are up with the challengers.

Albion are left frustrated this weekend because they had a home fixture against Rossington Main but Horsfall Stadium is unavailable as Bradford Park Avenue have been drawn at home in the FA Cup.

Silsden make the journey into the Potteries to take on Stone Dominoes in the North West Counties League Premier Division following a 2-1 midweek defeat at Bacup Borough, despite going ahead through a Tim Hurd goal.
