Basement side Wibsey ended a run of seven consecutive PREMIER DIVISION defeats with a 5-2 home victory over Littletown to break their West Riding County Amateur League duck.
Phil Brogan and match-day signing Mark Shute netted twice apiece, with James Crossland also on target. Danny Ryan and Reece Pollard replied for second-bottom Littletown, who are just a point ahead.
Campion surrendered their unbeaten tag and dropped down to fourth place as they failed to breach hosts Storthes Hall’s defence. Second-half strikes by Kyle Silkstone and Eddie Szostak sealed a 2-0 victory. Tyersal returned to winning ways with a 4-1 home verdict against third-bottom Lower Hopton.
Arron Heywood (two), Curtis McMahon and Alan Morley junior did the damage, with Adam Stephenson supplying the consolation. Steeton rescued a point from their visit to Marsden after being three goals adrift at the halfway point. They hit back to draw 3-3 with goals from Damian Whiteoak, Andy Holden and Craig Gregory.
Ovenden West Riding held on to top spot with a 2-0 win at Hall Green United, while Kirkburton – who beat defending champions Bay Athletic 2-1 – and Golcar United, with a 3-0 success at Brighouse Town, climbed to second and third place respectively.
DIVISION ONE leaders Lepton Highlanders stretched their unbeaten start to nine games as they outplayed visitors Bronte Wanderers to win 8-1, Ashley Flynn netting a hat-trick.
Second-placed Overthorpe also retained their unbeaten start but had to settle for a point from a 3-3 draw at Hunsworth.
Andrew Wood (2) and Joel Farrah saw their goals for the hosts cancelled out by Paul Hodgson, Jonathan Walton and Lee Bennett.
Ventus Yeadon Celtic are third after beating Halifax Irish 4-0 with goals from Jonathon Hicks (2), Terry Hargreaves and Mick Brame.
And Salts are up to fourth following a 2-1 home win over Dudley Hill Rangers, with their goals coming from Lee Grice and Wayne Walsh.
Albion Sports made progress in the combined DIVISION TWO/THREE CUP as goals from Chris Gibbons and Wayne Broxholme saw off Tingley Athletic Reserves 2-0.
West Horton returned from DIVISION TWO pace-setters Huddersfield YMCA without reward as second-half strikes from Steven McMann, Tom Berrett and Gary Robinson gave the hosts a 3-0 victory.
The reserve sides of Kirkburton (John Allison and Lee Bradley) and Tyersal (Paul Hague and Andrew Busfield) shared four second-half goals in a 2-2 outcome.
Adam Spencer’s hat-trick led Steeton Reserves to a 4-2 home victory over third-placed Golcar United Reserves, with William Lee adding the fourth goal.
There were goals galore in DIVISION THREE, with Lower Hopton Reserves leading the way in a 9-5 victory over fellow strugglers Hunsworth Reserves.
Littletown made it four wins from as many games as new signing Steve Boee netted a debut hat-trick in his side’s 6-3 win over Salts Reserves.
And Bronte Wanderers picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Hall Green United Reserves.
