Maltby Main 0 Brighouse Town 2
Brighouse moved up to third in the table with a resilient win despite going down to ten men in the first half.
Town got off to an unbelievable start as Danny Nadiole netted a shot from the edge of the area in the first minute and then added his second goal in the ninth minute.
Anthony Haigh fell foul of the officials after reacting to a bad challenge on him and was red-carded.
It was backs against the wall in the second half of what was a tough game and Town had to defend well, with keeper Ben Immeson forced into making a string of good saves.
Town spokesman Ray McLaughlin said: “We had to set our stall out not to get beaten in the second half so it wasn’t a classic game. But it was a good battling performance and it showed that Quinny’s (recently appointed manager Paul Quinn) squad is coming together and playing with a lot of spirit."
