City hope to get the wheels rolling on a financial recovery with a little help from their Friends.
An independently-formed group of fund-raisers, called the Friends of Bradford City, have been set up with the goal to swell the club’s coffers.
Their first aim is to raise £10,000 to buy a new minibus for the youth team to use.
The group, led by long-term supporter Mark Neale, were formed before the Burton home game last month. They will hold a second meeting in the 1911 Club tomorrow night.
“Friends of Bradford City has been relaunched because, quite frankly, the club needs help,” said Neale.
“We felt that the club needed a bit of a hand and we are going to operate on two fronts.
“We will be attempting to raise quite large sums of money as well as harness the various skills and experience that our supporters possess and hopefully direct them towards the club.
“If these fans can help the club in some way – be it carpentry, marketing, whatever – then it will ultimately save the club money.”
