TREVOR ADAMS concludes his review of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League season with a look at the lower divisions:
All-conquering Sandy Lane were never under any pressure as they secured the Division 1B championship with ease as part of a treble.
They also won the Keighley & District Sunday Cup by beating Division One side Oakworth in an entertaining final at Cougar Park.
And Lane made it a hat-trick by defeating Stock Lane Rangers in the Intermediate Cup final at Manningham.
Dudley Hill Rangers Reserves finished second in the league, some eight points back.
A late-season clash between top two Thornton United and Tyersal ultimately decided the outcome of the Division 1A title.
Thornton inflicted only Tyersal’s second defeat of the season and with it managed to secure top spot by a single point.
Buttershaw Celtic had pushed hard at the top of the table for most of the campaign but fell away in the final stages, with a defeat to Tyersal in their penultimate fixture condemning them to a third-place finish.
Stanningley Albion won every match to finish 13 points clear at the top of Division 2A.
Undercliffe clinched the runners-up position by a single point ahead of Dudley Hill Athletic.
The Division 2B title went to Harold Club, with Victoria Celtic edging out Heaton Athletic by a point to take second place.
Whitburn Athletic stormed to the Division 3A crown by an impressive margin, finishing 17 points clear of their nearest challengers.
The runners-up honour went to Ancient Forresters as they edged out Oddfellows Athletic by a point after a season-long battle.
Robin Hood had a terrific season in Division 3B, narrowly missing out on a title treble.
They were only denied in the Bradford & District Cup final after a penalty shoot-out against Wharfedale Premier outfit Salts, whose goalkeeper was the man of the match.
Robin Hood had already secured the league from Lidget Green, who were ten points back in second, and beat Steel Bangle in the Sunday League Cup final.
Division Four was won by Hare & Hounds and second place went to fellow league newcomers Swaine Green.
The only disappointment from lower division teams was a poor showing in the West Riding County Sunday Trophy, having had three semi-finalists the previous season.
