South Bradford Golf Club got their season off to the best possible start by winning the Seventh Division Team Championship Trophy.
They followed that up by competing in the Sixth Division and performing well enough to retain their place at that level for next season.
It is the first Yorkshire trophy the club have won in their history, as well as the first time they will be starting a season in the sixth tier.
Their team of four narrowly scraped through the qualifying stage for the Seventh Division at Waterton Park Golf Club in sixth place but took the championship by storm.
The final, held over 36 holes at Catterick Golf Club, was won by five shots by South Bradford, with two of their team, Tom Hall and Tom Pattinson, recording the best gross scores for the morning and afternoon rounds respectively.
Captain Geoff Walsh said: “It’s a good achievement considering the oldest member of the team was 19. Other clubs have 60-year-olds in their teams.
“For the last few years we’ve put a lot of effort into increasing the number of young members and we now have 60 juniors on the books.
“All the effort we put in at the beginning is now starting to come to fruition.”
