Leeds could have twins in their team next season for the first time since Rod and Ray Wallace, who joined the club from Southampton 20 years ago.
Nathan and Lewis Turner have signed one-year contracts after coming through the Academy and playing 11 times each for the reserves. Nathan is a central midfielder who can also play in defence, while Lewis operates at left back or in central defence.
The 18-year-olds have earned rave reviews from the Academy’s coaching staff and join former Everton youngster Zac Thompson, Sanchez Payne and Joe McCann who have signed pro contracts with the club. In addition, goalkeeper Alex Cairns has been offered professional terms.
Rod Wallace was the club’s top scorer in the 1993-4 season with 17 goals and again in 1996-7 with just eight! He left for Rangers on a Bosman free transfer in the summer of 1998.
His twin brother was less successful at Elland Road and left to join Stoke on a free transfer in 1994.
