City Supporters’ Trust are preparing their own fight for Valley Parade if the club cannot agree a new deal with the landlords.
The Trust are desperate for the Bantams to remain at their spiritual home and are keeping close tabs on the current attempts to reduce the stadium rent.
And they are willing to step in themselves if talks break down, rather than see the club relocate to Odsal.
Chairman Alan Carling is sounding out public interest for a campaign.
He said: “If they don’t manage to reach an agreement, fans will be facing the situation where we might be playing at Odsal in August. We could be in some form of administration and also looking at a ten-point penalty.
“There might be a reasonable playing budget but it would be difficult circumstances in which to start the season. It might be a once-and-for-all decision that would end over 100 years of Bradford City at Valley Parade.
“We don’t have to be resigned to that as an outcome. If the fans want to stay at Valley Parade and we all work together, I’m confident we would be able to raise the funds to buy the ground.”
