Club captain Richard Naylor is among a host of players who will be leaving Leeds United this summer.
Naylor, 34, was manager Simon Grayson’s first signing for the club when the central defender joined from Ipswich but the Leeds-born player has been restricted by injury to just 15 appearances this season.
Also leaving is goalkeeper Shane Higgs, 33, who has spent most of this season on the bench. The contracts of Naylor (pictured) and Higgs expire at the end of June and Grayson is hoping for an early decision from Bradley Johnson and Neil Kilkenny on their future.
The pair, whose current deals also expire on June 30, have turned down the terms offered to them but talks are on-going.
Meanwhile, loan players Sanchez Watt (Arsenal), Jake Livermore (Spurs), Eric Lichaj (Aston Villa) and David Gonzales (Manchester City) have all returned to their clubs.
United will take up their option on midfielder Ramon Nunez, who signed on a six-month contract in January with a further year’s option. He has impressed while on loan at Scunthorpe. A contract will also be offered to central defender Patrick Kisnorbo, who made his long-awaited return from injury as a sub in United’s final game of the season at QPR.
