Ian Horrocks was the two-goal hero as Ventus Sports beat Westwood Park 2-1 in the BRADFORD & DISTRICT SUNDAY SENIOR CUP final at Eccleshill United.
Westwood had taken the lead against their fellow Bradford Sunday Alliance League side just before the interval through Michael O’Brian after being on top for the majority of the first half.
They were also on top at the start of the second period but were made to pay for missing chances as Premier Division rivals Ventus gradually came into the game.
Their pressure paid off in the 75th minute as Horrocks converted a penalty, before heading the decider late in the contest.
The previous evening had seen Sunday Alliance League team Robin Hood miss out to Wharfedale League opponents Salts in a penalty shoot-out after a terrific INTERMEDIATE CUP final at Fields.
Salts took the lead after ten minutes through Carl Berry but Robin Hood were awarded two penalties in reply and moved 2-1 up as Ben Ullah converted both.
Joe Pleasance equalised for Salts after 55 minutes but Ullah was handed the chance to complete a hat-trick of spot-kicks, only for Matty Bailey to save it.
Man of the match Bailey then proved the hero in the penalty shoot-out by saving the final Robin Hood kick.
Meanwhile, West Bowling can round off their season in fine style if they beat already-relegated Oakenshaw in the BRADFORD SUNDAY ALLIANCE LEAGUE.
Victory would wrap up a second consecutive Premier Division title for Bowling to go with the County Cup and League Cup they have won this season.
Two Sunday Alliance League teams fight out the KEIGHLEY & DISTRICT CUP final as Sandy Lane take on Oakworth Juniors at Cougar Park.
