Tyersal won their first West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division Cup after beating Ovenden West Riding 1-0 after extra-time in Monday’s final at Brighouse Town.
After 90 minutes of few clear chances for either side, Ovenden had the opportunity to take the lead in the second minute of the first period of extra-time but Mick Palethorpe’s penalty was well saved by Tyersal keeper Ivan Willis.
Tyersal grabbed the all-important goal in the second period when Andrew Bailey fired home past a stranded Gary Allchin.
