Brighouse Town 4, Lincoln Moorlands Railway 7
Brighouse Town could not win at home on the last day of the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League Premier Division season, despite doubles for Lee Burgess and Nathan Cartman.
It all went wrong for the home side at the Duel Seal Stadium in the first half, and they trailed 4-0 at the break.
Lincoln started the damage early with Tom Garrick opening the scoring in the fourth minute. Danny Brooks also netted, and when Joe Butler made it three the match was barely 20 minutes old.
Garrick added his second on the half-hour but Burgess reduced the deficit just two minutes into the second half.
Cartman made it 4-2 with just 11 minutes remaining but there were still a further five strikes to come in the goalfest.
A quickfire brace from Nathan Adams made it 6-2 to the visitors before Burgess and Cartman added their second strikes, only for Lincoln’s Luke Forbes to wrap up the scoring two minutes from time.
