With Bay Athletic playing in the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup final tomorrow night against Otley Town, Albion Sports can cut the gap at the top of the West Riding County Amateur Premier Division to one point with victory at home to Hall Green United on Saturday.
Bay were stripped of the title in 2006 when they had played an ineligible player in the final against Sherburn White Rose.
Hunsworth, who delayed their drop back into Division One with a 2-1 win at Tingley Athletic, could have the inevitable confirmed if they fail to win at home to Storthes Hall.
Division One leaders Salts hold a four-point advantage over second-placed AFC Emley, with three games to play for both sides. Salts have a must-win game at home to fourth-placed Bay Athletic Reserves.
Bay reserves cannot gain promotion but could do Emley, who have no fixture, and third-placed Littletown, who host Wakefield City, a huge favour.
Midweek results, Premier Division: Steeton 2, Campion 5; Storthes Hall 3 Kirkburton 5; Tingley Athletic 1, Hunsworth 2. Division One: Dudley Hill Rangers 2, Bronte Wanderers 2; Littletown 1, Bay Athletic res 1; Overthorpe 2, Wakefield City 1. Division Two: Ovenden WR Res 2, Huddersfield YMCA 0. Division Three: Long Lee Res 2, Albion Sports Res 4.
