Bradford Dudley Hill’s National Conference Premier Division tenure is hanging by a thread as they take on bottom side York Acorn in their final home game of the season on Saturday.
Defeat at the hands of West Hull on Tuesday night has left Hill needing to win both their remaining games, while hoping that main rivals Wigan St Patricks – who are one point ahead – slip up in their last two matches.
To add insult to injury, Hill will be still smarting from failing to finish off West Hull after establishing a 12-0 lead.
This came from classy touchdowns by Nathan Kitson, Duane Nelson and Mark Hill but they went on to miss out 36-28, a slip that may yet haunt them in the final run-in.
The York visitors have only pride to play for but they are still a dangerous outfit at times and will be seeking to complete the double after a 30-12 home success earlier in the campaign.
West Bowling travel to Ovenden in buoyant mood as they attempt to move further up the Division Two table.
Bowling were in sparking form last night, posting a 16-0 win against East Leeds in their final bow at the Bankfoot Oval.
Teenage second-row forward Richard Lumb, who is attracting attention from Castleford Tigers, was the pick of a strong pack, with Ady Leek and Nigel Halmshaw not far behind.
