Farsley AFC will be looking to put on a performance befitting the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League champions on Saturday when they host Lincoln Moorlands Railway knowing they have already landed the Premier Division title and promotion to the Evo-Stik League.
They were so far in front that they were crowned champions on Wednesday night without kicking a ball as Bridlington Town, the only side with enough games in hand to catch them, failed to win their midweek fixture.
Neil Parsley will demand a grandstand finish in front of Farsley’s home crowd against sixth-placed Lincoln. He will also warn his players not to take their foot off the gas as they could still land a remarkable treble, having also reached the final of both the League Cup and President’s Cup.
Neighbours THACKLEY are also at home but, unlike Farsley, it is not their last game of the league season.
The Dennyboys would break through the 60-point barrier with a win against Armthorpe Welfare but they will have two other chances to do that, although their final two games are away from home.
LIVERSEDGE ensured their status in the top flight for next season earlier this month, although they will remain fourth from bottom of the table even if they win at home on Saturday against relegation-threatened Hallam.
Sedge cannot catch nearest neighbours BRIGHOUSE TOWN, although Mark Brier’s men are just one place above them.
Town have an eight-point cushion over his former club and have another game still to play after tomorrow’s trip to mid-table Long Eaton United.
In the lower tier, the only incentive for ECCLESHILL UNITED is to stay in the top half of the Division One table when they travel for their penultimate game at struggling Teversal.
SILSDEN’S future in the Vodkat League Premier Division has been ensured thanks to their recent excellent run of clean sheets and points banked.
In fact, their 3-0 midweek victory at St Helens means they are closer to tomorrow’s seventh-placed hosts Padiham than they are to the foot of the table in terms of points.
