Jamie Langley column
If you can’t get yourself fired up for tomorrow night’s match then you’re in the wrong game.
It’s a massive game on our own patch and both teams have a lot at stake.
Games against Leeds are always great to be involved in. This is the type of game you look back on when your career’s over, so you have to make the most of it.
It’s going to be really frustrating for me watching from the stands. It’s always frustrating but on occasions like this it really does hit home.
The lads who play have to appreciate how lucky they are to be out there because not many people get to experience games like this.
Tomorrow’s game is made even more important by last week’s defeat at Salford. Everybody was disappointed and it was just a non-performance; as bad as we’ve served up this season.
Not taking anything away from Salford but if we want to be competing with the best teams in the competition, there’s no way that’s good enough.
We have to do something about it because we’ve got three really tough games coming up, the kind of games that would be hard at the best of times.
Mick’s made a few changes to the team and the lads know if they don’t play well enough they won’t have a place next time out, which can only be a good thing.
Both us and Leeds are coming off the back of poor form but in these games, form usually goes out of the window and both teams will be looking to get their Easter off to a good start.
If we get a good performance and a win, confidence will be sky-high again and previous games are quickly forgotten.
It would set us up nicely for the trip to Catalan on Easter Monday and the game against Warrington the week after, so it is extremely important we get things right now.
