Bradford Dudley Hill proved they are still determined to fight the dreaded drop from the National Conference Premier Division by giving table-toppers Thatto Heath a battle royal before falling 40-24 on their travels.
Hill made the hosts battle hard and were well in contention trailing 16-10 at the break, with tries from stand-off Danny Thomas and hooker Nathan Kitson together with a solo conversion from Neil Wall. Hill drew level early in the second half before a hat-trick from Thatto centre Darren Woods scuppered their chances of an upset.
Wall crossed and added another conversion and touchdowns from Kitson and Kyle Bateman completed their tally.
Hill are third bottom but have a game in hand over their relegation rivals.
West Bowling came a cropper 24-12 at Division Two promotion contenders Castleford Lock Lane.
Wests took the lead with a Todd Carter try converted by Damian Smith.
They managed to draw level in the second half with a converted touchdown from centre Gavin Buckley before Lock Lane pulled away to victory.
