Robin Hood kept their treble hopes alive by booking their place in the Bradford & District Sunday Cup final with an extra-time victory over Harold Club.

The Bradford Sunday Alliance Division 2A side took the lead but a penalty from Ben Ullah brought Robin Hood back into the match.

The Division 3B leaders had a player red-carded for dissent but the ten men swept forward and moved into the lead for the first time at the end of the first period of extra time.

Harold Club were also reduced to ten men when a player was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident, and there was no way back when Marcus Edwards beat the Harold goalkeeper twice in one-on-ones.

Robin Hood will meet Wharfedale Premier League title-chasers Salts in the final.

They took the lead early in their match against Inter Mill Lane but the Sunday Alliance team hit back before the interval to restore parity.

In a hard-fought second half, two late goals from the Wharf team ensured their place in the final at Fields on Tuesday, May 3.

Salts’ scorers were John Cullen, David Boote and Joseph Pleasance.

In the Premier Division, Westwood Park enjoyed their second success of the week after beating Baildon Trinity Athletic 5-1 to retain third place. Danny Cunningham and Josh Milner both notched a brace.

The top match in the Division One saw table-toppers Mill Lane win 3-2 at Wyke Wanderers.

The hosts went into the break with a two-goal cushion after strikes by Chris Edmundson and Karl Fawcett but a second-half blitz saw the visitors score through Stephen Hollingsworth and Levan Moses. A Mark Pickles thunderbolt ten minutes from time ensured Mill Lane went up as champions.

It was also sweet revenge for their defeat by Wyke the last time the sides met, which had already ensured Wyke will play Premier Division football next season.

In Division 1A, Dudley Hill Rangers reserves also ensured they will be playing higher grade football next season when they beat Ravenscliffe 7-3 with Adam Hird notching a hat-trick for the hosts.

Hird’s treble made him joint top goalscorer with Michael Murphy, both having scored 24 goals so far this season. With one game remaining the fight is on to see who will come out on top in the race for the division’s golden boot.

Sandy Lane’s long unbeaten run in Division 1B came to an end after they were beaten 2-1 by Fleece FC.

Michael Oliver put the visitors in front on 20 minutes and Oliver Serrant added a second on 55 minutes to provide a comfortable cushion.

A late comeback appeared to be on the cards when the hosts pulled one back but the Fleece defence held firm.

Stanningley Albion continued to impress in Division 2A with a 7-0 victory over Nab Wood Juniors, Luke Hunter hitting four and Mathew Dibb grabbing a brace for the visitors.

A young Queensbury reserves team played out an entertaining 1-1 draw against Bankfoot Lions, with Vic Brooksbank scoring in the first half for the visitors before Ben Goodison equalised.

Undercliffe FC ensured second place with a 2-0 victory over Dudley Hill Athletic, Nick Scullion scoring both goals.

Second West beat Beldon Sports 3-2 in Division 2B.

Meanwhile, AFC Titans pulled off an impressive comeback in Division 3, recovering from a 3-0 half-time deficit to take all three points with a last-minute penalty. The result dented Ancient Forresters’ hopes of guaranteeing second place.

Sam Abbey bagged both goals as Buttershaw Rangers beat Canterbury 2010 2-1.
