Silsden 1, Bootle 2 Silsden’s Vodkat League goalkeeper of the month James Mann went off injured as the Cobbydalers ended up with a centre back between the sticks in their defeat to Bootle.
Mann was injured in the dying stages of a goalless first half and conceded twice soon after the break before being replaced by defender Arley Barnes after 53 minutes.
Anthony Miley netted Bootle’s first goal following a scramble in the home area and Kevin Black snatched a second after a weak back pass had left Mann struggling in no man’s land.
Silsden’s solitary reply came following the award of a penalty for handball. Kevin Ryan took the spot kick but the visitors’ keeper parried, only to see Ryan head the rebound into the top corner of his net.
