City today announced a new kit deal that will cover the next four seasons.
The Bantam strips will be designed by Nike, who will also take control of the Valley Parade club shop.
The world-famous manufacturer will step in when the current five-year deal with Surridge Sports is up at the end of June.
New home and away shirts will be unveiled in the summer – and the club expect the first-choice kit to be available from the opening game in pre-season.
Director of operations David Baldwin said: “Given the situation of having a brand like Nike at Bradford City, we felt this was a positive step.
“The nature of the deal is linked to the revenue streams that the shop brings in. That will be a direct benefit to the football club.
“Nike will be designing a bespoke home kit for Bradford City. It wasn’t available 12 months ago so it is not something off the shelf.
“This is a much more recognisable brand but that doesn’t take anything away from Surridge.
“We’re pleased to have had the arrangement with them and it has improved on a year-by-year basis. We’ve been satisfied with that deal and it’s come to a natural conclusion.”
The kits will be produced by Just Sport Pro Club, Nike’s official partner for clubs outside the elite.
They currently cater for around a dozen clubs, including three in the Championship, Aberdeen and Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League as well as others in Leagues One and Two and the Blue Square Premier.
“Our remit is to get a wide range of clubs across all divisions,” said sales director Mike Heslop.
“Bradford City have got the biggest fanbase by a long way in their league and will be great to work with.
“We take the retail arm of the club and develop the store, the online business and put all the products in. It’s a worldwide brand and one that people want to be associated with.”
The new deal will see the home kit change every season, with new change colours every two years. A third-option kit will also be available.
The Nike kits have already been signed off by the club but details will not be released until nearer the time.
Baldwin said: “I fully expect our players to be wearing Nike kit the moment the first pre-season friendly kicks off.
“I’m also very confident that a replica version will be available for our fans at the same time.”
