Leeds United have handed a six-month contract to former Everton junior Zac Thompson after the midfielder’s successful trial spell.
Thompson, 18, impressed while playing for United’s under-18s and in reserve-team friendlies.
He was named in the reserves for a competitive debut in Tuesday night’s 3-0 over Scunthorpe Reserves at Glanford Park.
Meanwhile, former Senegal international Amdy Faye, 33, won’t be staying at Elland Road.
By mutual consent it has been decided the short-term deal Faye signed in October won’t be extended.
The former Stoke and Portsmouth midfielder has made eight first-team appearances, the last two as a substitute.
Australian central defender Patrick Kisnorbo is continuing his rehabilitation at Thorp Arch after returning from a break in America.
Kisnorbo has been out for ten months with an Achilles tendon injury, suffered after only six minutes of the home match against Millwall.
No date has yet been pencilled in for his return to action.
