Dinnington Town 1 Farsley 4

Farsley put their recent woes behind them with a solid performance that ensured they stayed at the top of the Premier Division table.

Neil Parsley’s men had lost four of their previous five league games, the last one at home to local rivals Thackley in midweek.

They bounced back in some style against struggling Dinnington.

Parsley said: “It is nice to get back to winning ways and I hope it means we have snapped out of our poor run.

“With respect, Dinnington is not one of the nicest places to go to in mid-January but our squad reacted well.

“There were some changes but nothing major and the lads wanted it. For me, the scoreline reflected the game fairly, their keeper played well and we had two stonewall penalties turned down. It was a comprehensive win.”

One of Parsley’s two assistant player-managers, Simeon Bambrook, began the scoring in the ninth minute. Bambrook added a second just after the half hour and Mark Bett made it 3-0 before the interval.

Michael Blythen pulled one back for the home side but Ben Jones grabbed Farsley’s fourth.

Gareth Grant also troubled the Town defence but he failed to convert a handful of good chances.

Brighouse Town’s home game against Nostell MW was postponed, as was Silsden’s Vodkat Premier Division home clash against Ramsbottom United as snow, ice and surface water caused problems.
