Guiseley travel to mid-table Corby Town on Saturday looking to maintain their two-point advantage at the top of the Blue Square Bet North table.

The Lions have had a faultless start to 2011 with two victories in two outings. They also have a clean bill of health, with no injuries and all suspensions cleared.

The addition of former Avenue skipper Simon Baldry and the return of James Cotterill, who was on loan with their Bradford neighbours, has further strengthened the side.

Manager Steve Kittrick admits he has an embarrassment of riches, saying: “The lads are giving me a headache but it’s a nice one to have. I could pick a number of systems or line-ups and know we had a good chance of winning.”

Baldry made his Guiseley debut on New Year’s Day as a starter at right back, while Cotterill returned from his month’s loan to captain the side.

Ryan Toulson, Danny Ellis and Simon Ainge all served a one-game ban that day, with Danny Boshell completing his suspension after also sitting out Monday’s 1-0 win at Hyde.

Striker Darryn Stamp missed the derby win over Harrogate Town to start the year last Saturday but only because of a 24-hour illness. He returned to the squad for the trip to Hyde.

Kittrick said: “We had selection problems for the Harrogate game but ‘Cotti’ came straight back in and Si Baldry just proved what a class player he is.

“We had to put Dave Merris, who is a central midfielder and not the tallest, at centre back and I thought he was our man of the match.

“The lads can slot in wherever they are asked to and they are willing because nobody wants to miss out.

“They all know that we have to keep working to stay where we are because teams are making it difficult for us now we are seen as a scalp.”
