Fairbank United started the New Year with a devastating performance against Inter Batley to go top of Spen Valley League Division One.
United stamped their authority on the game during the early stages thanks to their controlled passing and movement and were 3-0 up within ten minutes.
The goals continued to come and United eventually went in at the break 7-1 up.
There was more of the same during the second half as Fairbank hit another five goals to seal an impressive 12-1 victory.
The goals came from throughout the team as Faisal Shabbir hit four, Rizwan Mir bagged a hat-trick and Hassan Ellahi, Mohammed Jameel, Irfan Khan, Bilal Saleem and Akif Waseem all grabbed a goal apiece.
Fairbank would like to thank referee Andrew Walker for giving up his time on New Year’s Day to referee the game and also send best wishes to Inter Batley’s Mahmud Dadhiwala in his recovery from a recent illness.
