Peter Taylor has confirmed that he will not be leaving City for Newcastle.

Taylor spoke to joint-chairman Julian Rhodes late last night to say that he remained totally focused on the task of winning promotion from League Two.

Rhodes said: "It has made him even more determined to be successful with Bradford City this season."

Taylor told the T&A this lunchtime that he had been tempted by Newcastle's approach.

He said: "I've got a lot of respect for Alan Pardew and Newcastle United, which is a magnificent football club. It was very flattering and very tempting.

"It was a tough decision but I am committed to what we are trying to do here. In the last 12 games we've got 22 points and that's very nearly promotion form."
