West Bowling welcome back former BARLA Great Britain captain Nigel Halmshaw for Saturday’s visit to National Conference League Division Two promotion-seekers Eastmoor Dragons.

The vastly experienced Halmshaw has recovered from a broken thumb to rejoin a squad who have enjoyed a four-week break from the trials and tribulations of being anchored in the re-election zone.

Bowling coach Ricky Helliwell said: “Eastmoor only beat us 17-8 at home when they pinched the result in the last ten minutes of the game.

“And with Nigel back calling the shots, plus the lads fresh and raring to go, we can cause an upset.”

Bradford Dudley Hill need to put last week’s slow start against Siddal on the back burner when they travel to Saddleworth Rangers.

They recovered in great style to give the Halifax side a real scare in a cracking second half and more of the same is the order of the day when they face their traditional rivals.

Both sides are at the wrong end of the Premier Division table and Hill are still smarting from the narrow 22-18 home defeat earlier in the season.
