FARSLEY AFC face a home derby in the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League knowing they need a win to be sure of maintaining their place at the Premier Division summit.
Neil Parsley’s men host Liversedge as leaders but in the midst of a poor run of form, having lost four of their last five games.
They had lost three of four in the league before they were also knocked out of the West Riding County Cup in extra time in midweek.
Parsley said: “There have been big decisions going against us in those games, so I don’t think we are at crisis point just yet.
“I know every manager will tell you that certain things appear to have conspired against them when they are not getting the results but that is how it has been.
“I also know that it’s not good enough and we are determined to put things right before the good work we did in the first few months of the season unravels.
“In a way it was good that we got that cup game in so that we could get a bit of fitness back before we go into a league fixture.”
Clubs in both tiers of the NCE League have been badly hit by the weather over the last month and Parsley fears this weekend’s fixtures are also at risk because of the predicted plummeting temperatures.
He said: “I should have more numbers at my disposal because Sim Bambrook and keeper Tom Morgan have served their suspensions now and Lee Connor, who had to come off on Tuesday because he was weak after a bout of sickness, will all be available.”
Thackley are also looking to get a home game in as they prepare for the visit of Nostell MW.
The Dennyboys won at Eccleshill United in the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday but have not played a league game since they hosted Brighouse Town on November 20. They should have visited Nostell last weekend.
BRIGHOUSE also face a return match at they host Armthorpe Welfare looking to avenge a 3-2 defeat at the Doncaster outfit last Saturday.
In Division One, ECCLESHILL travel to Barton Town Old Boys. The Eagles may have been beaten by Thackley in midweek but they enjoyed a 6-1 romp over Hemsworth in the only game in the section to escape the weather last weekend.
