Peter Taylor is urging City’s fledglings to treat tonight’s FA Youth Cup showdown with Southampton as “just another game”.
The young Bantams will start as big underdogs when the third-round tie finally gets underway at Valley Parade.
But Taylor hopes they can do the occasion justice.
He said: “The FA Youth Cup are their most important games of the season and they did really well to beat Rochdale. This is a really big test for them but the players have got to thoroughly enjoy the experience.
“Sometimes you can try too hard. I spoke to the team the other day and said they’ve got to treat this as they would a normal game.
“If they play how we know they can, then they’ll give anybody a good game.”
The game kicks off at 7pm and will go to extra-time and penalties if necessary.
