Eccleshill United 1, Bradford Park Avenue 3
Bradford Park Avenue secured home advantage in the second round of the West Riding County Cup as on-loan Bantams striker Chib Chilaka opened his goal account in a 3-1 win at Eccleshill United.
The visitors were held by their neighbours for 75 minutes before the floodgates opened with three goals in a five-minute spell.
That earned Avenue another Bradford derby as Thackley were awaiting the winners.
The Eagles were good value for the 0-0 scoreline going into the last quarter of an hour but they blotted their copybook by conceding a penalty.
A foul in the area gave Tom Claisse the chance to break the deadlock from the spot.
Chilaka, in his second game since joining on a short-term loan, weighed in with the second three minutes later and in the blink of an eye the visitors were 3-0 up thanks to Dave Heagney.
The Eagles did get on the scoresheet six minutes from time when a weak back-pass was picked up by Avenue’s keeper.
The resulting indirect free-kick from 12 yards was touched to Andy Fieldhouse and he drilled the ball in.
