City today signed Manchester United defenders Oliver Gill and Reece Brown on loan until October 25.
Gill, 20, is a centre half who can also play left back. The Surrey-born youngster, who is the son of United chief executive David, was given a first-team squad number last season and was named on the bench against Fulham in March.
He was a regular in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reserve team which conceded only ten goals all campaign and was nominated for their player of the year award.
Brown is the 18-year-old younger brother of Wes and plays along the same lines. Like Gill, he is a centre half but also appears frequently at right back – the position City will use him to fill after the injuries to Simon Ramsden and Lewis Hunt.
Brown played for England under-19s in last summer’s European Championships in France.
