Max Gradel has promised to repay manager Simon Grayson for the faith he as shown in him.
The Leeds striker misses the first four games of the new campaign through suspension after losing his head when sent off at the end of last season.
He said: "I have to learn from that and make sure it never happens again. The manager has been really helpful to me. He’s given me games in pre-season when he didn’t have to so I’m grateful to him.
"I owe him, the fans and the club and I intend to repay them."
Meanwhile, Grayson has sent an appeal to the fans before tomorrow's season-opener against Derby.
He is introducing the multi-ball scheme whereby when a ball goes into touch, another is used to speed up the action. Grayson feels it will suit Leeds to have high-tempo games.
But to make it work, the ball that goes out has to be controlled so he is pleading with fans that if a ball goes into the crowd not to toss it straight back on the pitch but to pass it to the nearest ball boy.
