The Kool Sport Northern Counties East League get the 2010-11 season underway on Saturday, and Thackley could boast an even tougher test than Brighouse Town (who are at home to Pickering Town) on the opening day as they host Bridlington Town.
The pair were locked in the race for promotion to the Evo-Stik League last season, right up until the last month.
The east-coast club withdrew their application at the 11th hour to have another season at this level to build-up their coffers, while two disappointing results in their last three games meant Thackley ended up fourth.
