Bradford City’s youth team will be at Thackley on Monday evening taking on their under-19s and getting used to the surroundings.
Dennyfield is to be the venue the Bantams youngsters will use for their Football League Youth Alliance League fixtures throughout the forthcoming season.
The match will double up as the first for Thackley under-19s’ new sponsor United Carpets (Shipley Branch), who are replacing Warburtons.
Under-19s spokesman John McCreery said: “The club are pleased to continue to develop their links with Bradford City and look forward to seeing City’s management, players and supporters for their first game against Mansfield Town on Saturday, August 14 (1pm).
“Regarding United Carpets’ sponsorship, we hope it will be the start of a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
Another youth representative match at Dennyfield takes place on Sunday. Norwegian club Krokelvdalen have a youth team on tour and their under-18s will be taking on the home side.
Then the following Sunday it will be the turn of the tourists’ under-16s to take on their Thackley counterparts.
Thackley secretary Chris Frank said: “Both games have been scheduled for 11am and we have gone to great lengths to get the Norwegian national anthem so that we can play it over the PA system before kick-off.
“We checked that it was the current one and we hope if there are any exiled Norwegians in the area that they will come along as they will be made very welcome. I think we might have a problem finding a Norwegian guest beer for the day though!”
