We absolutely have to get our own house in order ahead of the trip to Hull KR.
It’s been a tough couple of weeks on and off the field so it’s important we get back into something like a regular routine.
We are trying our utmost to keep spirits high and make sure everyone remains positive to try and pull through this.
Everyone is only human and if you were to put anyone in our shoes – to lose a coach on the back of so many losses – it would affect them, but we have to stay professional.
We are here to play and play well, so that’s what we need to do.
The main thing is sorting out the issues in your own game. It’s important not to get frustrated because that’s when you do start making errors and doing things out of the ordinary just because you think you need to change things.
Hull KR are quite a solid outfit all across the park and they’re in a good run of form at the moment.
It’s a tough challenge but we have to try not to worry too much about them and instead look at our own performances. Of course we’ll do our homework on them but, first and foremost, we have to improve.
Last week everyone was really down after Macca left. We had to go out on the training field immediately after the announcement and I think that was one of the worst sessions I’ve been involved with.
It was sad to see him go like that and we all wish him well because he’s done a lot of good at this club during difficult times.
But we have a job to get on with now. This is a new chapter for the club and for us and we will all do our best to try and get this era off to a good start.
