Billy Paynter, Jason Crowe and Lloyd Sam are set to return after injury as Leeds look to purge the memory of their 4-0 trouncing by Bury when they visit Hartlepool tomorrow.
All three players missed the Gigg Lane horror show but United manager Simon Grayson says there is a “good chance” they will be back this weekend.
Grayson is looking for a huge improvement and said: “The fans don’t deserve to see players not running around.
“It is pre-season and there are things we work on during games, including changing systems.
“The players had a hard day’s training the day before but that is no excuse for what happened at Bury. They know they have to do much better.”
