Garforth Town 3, Guiseley 4
GUISELEY won an entertaining friendly at Garforth Town – but only just after hitting back from three behind to edge a seven-goal thriller.
The Lions found themselves 3-0 down just after the half-hour mark but Jamie Walshaw pegged one back with a free-kick into the top corner before the break.
Walshaw also netted the second from the penalty spot following a handball in the area in the 55th minute.
Last season’s top scorer completed his hat-trick with a right-foot shot just after the hour.
And Guiseley claimed the win six minutes from time when former Bantams midfielder Tom Penford converted a Matty Young cross with a right-footed shot.
FARSLEY won their second pre-season game when they came away from Askern Villa with a 1-0 victory.
Manager Neil Parsley was delighted with the workout if not the performance and ran the rule over several trialists as he formulates a squad for the new club.
LIVERSEDGE and ECCLESHILL UNITED both lost to lower-ranking opposition, against Littletown (3-0) and Kinsey Boys (1-0) respectively.
Tomorrow night sees SILSDEN play their only pre-season home friendly. Work on the perimeter fencing, hard-standing areas and the floodlights have ruled out further games at Keighley Road but the Cobbydalers have the all clear for the visit of Royton Town.
