Striker Billy Paynter opened his Leeds United account in a 1-0 win over Slovakian side MK Kosice last night.
The former Swindon marksman came on in the second half and finished off a cross from the impressive Robert Snodgrass that was flicked on by Bradley Johnson.
Despite the high temperatures, Leeds produced an improved display from their 1-0 defeat by MK Ruzemberok earlier in the week, giving their following support, which included a section from Bradford branch of the supporters club, something to cheer.
Leeds dominated the exchanges though without creating many chances in the first half but they stepped up the pace in the second period when Simon Grayson made a series of changes to the starting line-up.
Leeds head back to England tomorrow ready for their next match against Bury on Tuesday.
