Simon Grayson has voiced his dream of promotion to the Premier League after agreeing a new three-year contract to remain as Leeds manager.

United chairman Ken Bates revealed “enticing offers” had been made to tempt the former Blackpool boss away.

But 40-year-old Grayson, who guided Leeds into the Championship during his first full season in charge, said: “I hope we can go on to fulfil everyone’s dream by winning promotion back to the Premier League.”

Bates added: “We have every confidence in him. He has won two promotions in his managerial career – one here and one at Blackpool – and we are hoping he can make it a hat-trick at the club where he started out.”
