We’ve got a quick turnaround this week for the game with Harlequins and hopefully that’ll help us after last week’s defeat to Hull FC.

It’s important we put an end to this bad run and get back on track before the play-offs.

Naturally it’s not going to be easy but there are things we can do to change things and we’ve always had a good team spirit.

Although we did some good things against Hull, we still weren’t good enough. If you look at their tries, they were all poor concedes and they weren’t made to work hard for them, so that’s an area we need to tighten up.

During the first half we didn’t execute either but in the second half we were a different side and a big part of that was the fact the start of our sets were a lot better.

If your first couple of plays are not as good, the defence wins that battle and you find it hard to get any kind of go-forward.

There are a lot of things we’re working on but that’s one of the biggest ones.

It’s good to see Vinny Finigan being given a chance in the 19-man squad against Quins.

He’s been at the club for a few years now and through other commitments he’s not been able to go full-time but he’s always been a stand-out performer and is highly rated.

Given a chance, I think he could really make a good player and it’s nice to see people rewarded for their efforts.

Meanwhile, Wagga’s devastated his World Cup sweepstake chances are over. When Uruguay were winning he was on the phone and sending texts to us all the time but it went surprisingly quiet during their defeat to Holland.

Andy Senior has got Holland and he’s one of the tightest men at the club, so for him to win this competition would be pretty life-changing. He’s up against Platty in the final so let’s see who comes out on top.
