Having the carpet pulled out from underneath him last season has only served to make Neil Parsley even more determined to guide Farsley back up through the ranks.
Former Leeds and Huddersfield defender Parsley was manager of Farsley Celtic when they were forced to resign from the Blue Square North after failing to exit administration.
The owners of the new club, which will be known as Farsley AFC and play in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, have asked Parsley to steer them.
He has recruited his former assistants Mark Jackson and Simeon Bambrook but has yet to assemble a squad.
Parsley said: “The deal is not yet done for the new club to play at Throstle Nest but I understand it is imminent. I have had no other offers since the Celts folded and I wanted to be involved.
“It is a big challenge but I love my football and I’m looking forward to it.
“I hope we have all learned from our mistakes and we can take the club up through the divisions all over again.”
The club still has some hoops to jump through before their place as a rival for Thackley, Liversedge and Brighouse Town is ratified, however, most of the discussions and meetings have taken place and it should be a case of dotting i’s and crossing t’s before Farsley AFC are up and running.
“There is an awful lot of work to be done this month but I’m already busy trying to secure players ready for an assault on the huge task ahead of us. We’re all looking forward to a new dawn,” added Parsley.
“I’m very pleased that Sim and Jacko are staying with us. I have always enjoyed working with them very much and to have them along for the journey is fantastic news.
“I’m drawing up a pre-season schedule and we are looking to arrange some friendlies, so all we need are some players to work with starting from June 27 or 29.”
