Hard-as-nails midfielder Tommy Doherty will be joining City.
The 31-year-old former Northern Ireland international has agreed a two-year deal and becomes Peter Taylor's fourth capture in the space of 24 hours.
Doherty played under Taylor at Wycombe and was pivotal in their promotion two seasons ago. He has twice been named in the League Two team of the season.
Doherty, who has also played for Bristol City and QPR, left Wycombe in January after a row with boss Gary Waddock.
He spent the second half of last season playing in Hungary with Ferencvaros.
Taylor said: "He's a top footballer. Tommy can really pass a ball, that's a cert."
