Peter Taylor cannot wait to bring the best out of Omar Daley.

The jinxed Jamaican faces another spell on the sidelines after pulling his hamstring against Dagenham.

Daley had only recently returned from the serious knee injury which robbed him of nearly a year’s action.

But Taylor has seen enough of City’s lightning-quick winger to know that he can be an asset.

Taylor said: “Omar’s a good lad and he’s been terrific to work with.

“That type of injury might happen more with sprinters but it’s very disappointing for him.

“It’s a shame because he was looking great. He was a real threat, although he should also have scored.

“But I think his play is more disciplined than people think.

“I’m looking forward to working with him more when he’s fit again.”

Taylor watched Daley’s wing rival Scott Neilson in action at Kidderminster last night.

Neilson has scored three times during his first month’s loan with Cambridge United and this week extended his stay until the end of the Conference campaign. The deal with Cambridge was done before Daley’s injury.

Taylor added: “I agreed it with (manager) Martin Ling about a week ago.

“I’m going to look at that but the Conference season finishes on April 24, so we’ll still get him back for the last two games. It will be good to see how he does fully match-fit.”

Skipper Simon Ramsden hopes to rejoin training today after recovering from a calf strain.

Taylor said: “We’re hopeful he will be fit for the weekend but he’s been out a while and we’ll have to see whether he could play two games in a short space of time.”

Gavin Grant is also back after shaking off the illness which kept him out against Notts County and Dagenham.

Former Chester midfielder Wilkinson is joined by right winger Adriano Moke, who is currently at the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain.
