The club that dared to dream is refusing to die as plans are already in place for a reformed Farsley Celtic to appear lower down the non-league ladder next season.

Farsley’s demise came astonishingly quick. In the space of a week the club went from trading under an agreement with their administrators to a defunct ex-Conference North outfit.

Life president John Palmer came within a whisker of rescuing the club with a bid to buy it out of administration.

As head of the consortium, he pledged enough funds for all of the creditors to receive payment in full of all outstanding debts.

Palmer has now lodged a bid to buy the site, encompassing the ground, other buildings and training areas, and has vowed to use it as the community facility it always has been.

It is believed that it is the only offer for the site that has been tabled.

If it is a successful bid, Palmer hopes to have the facilities and infrastructure in place to apply for a reborn Celtic to apply for a place in the UniBond Division One North for the 2010/2011 season.

The club’s website, which has received more than 45,000 hits this month, is urging supporters of the club, locals, well-wishers from other clubs and erstwhile rivals to make their feelings known.

They have launched a campaign to back the Palmer bid and are hoping to get enough names on a petition to influence the administrators, Mazars, to allow Palmer to buy the ground back so football can return to Throstle Nest.
