Liversedge won their first league game in four in midweek and they will not be the only ones hoping they pick up another Kool Sport Northern Counties East League Division One maximum on Saturday.

Having returned to form with a 7-1 thrashing of Hallam at Clayborn on Tuesday, Sedge are heading to Rainworth MW.

The home side are third in the table, just two points above Sedge’s neighbours Thackley.

Sedge boss Sean Regan knows it will be a different proposition facing Rainworth than it was Hallam. However, he is still expecting a positive performance from his squad, though he has players missing.

“We had a weakened side on Tuesday with Brook Newton, Scott Ryan and Joel Etienne all out but we did ever so well,” said Regan.

“There were goals going in from all over and it was a good performance. The win took us back into the top eight, which is our first target, but this one will be a tough old game because the top four are running away with things but it sets our players another challenge.

“What makes it even more difficult for us is that Ben Hardy and Jamie Wasley are both unavailable. They got three goals between them in the 7-1 win, so we are going to miss them.

“Joel is still in America but he will be back this weekend - not in time for us to consider him for Saturday's squad unfortunately.

"But we should have Brook and Scott back, and new signing Laurence Hunter. He has been at Goole and Avenue so he has the quality we are looking for to keep us improving.”
