Albion Sports took one step closer to becoming the first club to lift the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup and the Sunday Cup when they won through to the final of the Challenge Cup on Wednesday night.

A goal on the stroke of half-time from Jordan Missin was enough to beat their County Amateur League rivals Bay Athletic at Woodlesford.

The two sides meet again at Myra Shay on Saturday in the top game in the Premier Division. Albion have already beaten last season’s champions twice in cup competitions this season and took a point off them in their league meeting last August.

Second-placed Wibsey visit Meltham Athletic, while Campion – who are in fifth place – entertain Kirkburton at Manningham Mills. Tyersal, who have still to play the other Bradford sides in the run-in, can have a big say in which of the local sides finish in the highest spot. On Saturday they take on Golcar United at Arkwright Street.

Steeton and Hunsworth, who lead the promotion chase in Division One, return to league action with changed fixtures.

Steeton visit Littletown, with Hunsworth hosting bottom side Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Ventus-Yeadon Celtic, who are six points adrift in third place, welcome Wakefield City at Dam Lane, while Salts will be hoping to ignite their promotion bid when Tyersal Reserves visit Saltaire.

Wednesday results: West Riding County FA Challenge Cup semi-final: Bay Athletic 0, Albion Sports 1 (J Missin). Premier Division: Brighouse 2 (L Malcher 2), Marsden 3 (J Battye 2, C Connelly).
