Peter Taylor sprung a surprise among his three changes to face Hereford this afternoon.
Gavin Grant was handed his first start as Luke O'Brien lost his ever-present record.
Taylor made it clear his selection would have an eye on Tuesday's clash with Notts County and had hinted that Omar Daley would not start both.
The Jamaican, last week's match-winner, was therefore named as a sub with Gareth Evans earning a recall.
The third change was injury-enforced with Jonathan Bateson replacing Simon Ramsden at right back. Lee Bullock took the captain's armband.
New signing Ryan Kendall had to make do with a spot on the bench.
CITY: Glennon, Bateson, Oliver, Clarke, Threlfall, Grant, Bullock, Bolder, Evans, Flynn, Hanson. Subs: O'Brien, Rehman, Daley, Kendall, O'Leary, McCammon, McLaughlin.
