Jamie Langley column: I was gutted to miss out last week and even more gutted at the result.

Sickness suddenly came over me the night before the game and I didn’t get any sleep. I was desperate to play but there was no way I would’ve been able to.

I’m not sure whether it was food poisoning or a bit of a bug but I’ve got over it now and I’ve been back in training this week.

It was really hard to watch the game at Warrington. It’s not too bad when the team are playing well but we threw that game away so it wasn’t pleasant viewing.

Hull are in a similar predicament to us, coming off a bad result against Wigan. Both sides will be looking for a response and will be looking to make vast improvements on last week.

We always have a real battle against Hull and I reckon this recent run of games against Super League’s early pacemakers will stand us in good stead.

The defeat at Warrington wasn’t without positives either and the goal-line defence during the first half was as sorted as it’s been for a long time.

But, that said, in this day and age you can’t afford to drop so much ball. We dropped ten balls in our own 40 and by doing that, you’re just asking for trouble.

We know there’s a lot of improvement still left in us but I feel we’ve set a good platform from which we can keep moving on.

After shaving his head at my testimonial launch, I think Wagga likes it now – I suppose he has had three years to build up to it.

There’s even a strong suggestion it might stay. He’s getting an extra half an hour in bed every morning and getting home after training half an hour earlier because he doesn’t have to mess around with all that hair gel.

As his travel partner, it’s all right with me.
