TVR United took a step closer to securing the T&A League title as they recovered from an interval deficit to beat lowly Sporting Athletic 5-3.
Junaid Taj slotted home a great solo effort after 20 minutes for TVR but they were then rocked by two goals in five minutes from the visitors.
Mohammed Ishmaeel restored parity five minutes into the second half and Faisil Shabir edged the league leaders in front ten minutes later.
Taj added his second goal on 70 minutes and although Sporting pulled one back, Shabir doubled his tally late on to thwart any comeback hopes.
West Bradford Spartans moved off the foot of the table with a fine 3-1 victory at Abundant Life Church.
Goals by Danny Neerey, Danny Deery and Phil Lawrence secured Spartans’ second success of the season.
White Abbey Road took the lead at home to Thornbury Youth but eventually lost 2-1 as Nikash Yousaf inspired the visitors’ recovery.
Sajid Ali struck the equaliser and Majid Ali hit the winner five minutes from the end.
